    Default Not again...

having replaced the three way valve and renewing the water pump and both isolation valves, my system worked, for a fortnight.

It is again refusing to power-up despite the manual fire-up procedure being followed...
Turnining the three way manually has no effect.

Running the hot tap does spark up the pilot light.

    It is a Potterton 40F.

When I press the pilot light trigger button, I can hear the boiler go 'Whhooo'- is it haunted? LOL!

The boiler front face gets hot to the touch. Could it be an internal stat problem?

The system is well bled too.

    All help gratefully accepted.

Ah, sorry I didn't make it clear.
Hot water does work on the timer and the heating pilot light only comes on and stays on when the hot water is set running for a period of time.

The room stat is a bit of a mystery... It has no scale to show what is high and what is low.

We seem to have little joy at either end of the scale, the room stat is a Potterton Myson item too. PRT100.

    Should I swap this too?

    Link out the stat???

Oh proper terminology! I assume this would mean shorting two terminals thus causing the stat to be constantly on???

    Do I get a prize?

Sorry for being dim, but a bit of extra guidance would be gratefully recieved.

I have shorted the terminals in the room stat to by-pass the switch within.

    No change has been noticeable...

Should I now be looking at the boiler and it's internal stat or its motherboard???

no johnna what you should be doing is paying a corgi registered engineer to carry out these tests . Instead of trying to save a few quid and possibly electrocuting yourself or blowing yourself up.Youre house insurers wont pay out if you damage youre property or youre neighbours. These sites are giving out dangerous non accurate information.
