Laid myself open to that one!

Why does the installation software have the applications Heating & Lighting pre-configured?

(I expect it checks the Windows Locale settings and adjusts accordingly for us "cold" Brits!)

I was being a bit naughty with that one, but I couldn't resist. Applications, hmm, the default is lighting or hex 38, you then have heating, control and any others you would like to invent. Its just an application group address nothing more, and no windows in the same sentence is not recommended.

Ross - dont need em? In Adelaide - South Australia we do brrr - it's bloody freezing at the moment.

I am having our ducted Carrier reverse cycle heating and cooling interfaced with the CBus - but it's an on/off only interface, which is a little disappointing. However setting the unit at a comfortable temperature, say 23deg all year round, means that the heater or cooler will kick in depending if the house needs heating up, or cooling down.

But I see the major bonus, is that when I leave the house, the switch by my front door will be able to turn everything off attached to the cbus network, inlcluing the airconditioner.

I may arrive late every morning
But I make up for it by leaving early.

            Mhread,
Well I did say I was being a tad naughty.

Why not have the air turn off when you arm your security system, ie; hit fob button, its night, minder sees you arm the security system, minder turns on a few lights for your departure and kills everything else including the air. minder can make the place look alive at night etc while your out etc etc. The reverse is an option as well.

              Hi Martin,

What part of Adelaide are you in? I'm down in Woodcroft. I'm currently retrofitting C-Bus to my place.. Alas I'm also interfacing with a very plain A/C interface, will also be unlikley to get any more than On/Off as well.
              Cheers,
