Wireless video sender: noisy

I purchased video sender from Maplin

The image is transmitted ok but the sound has some noise, quite annoying. Anyone encountered anything similar with wireless systems? Is there any solution - or at least some idea on what this could be?

What also puzzles me is that the level of the noise depends on the original source of the video - it is much higher when the video comes from my USB HDD (it has s-video output) than when I transmit something from the cable decoder.

PS Yes I have wifi - and had to make sure it uses different channel.

Not helpful I know but from experience of several of these devices the answer is run a cable! I've never yet had satisfactory results from these.

We have a similar issue with our (wireless) baby monitor. Some evenings it is fine and we can hear our little one's every breath, other times there's so much other "noise" it's effectively useless...

Haven't got to the bottom of it yet. It doesn't seem to be caused by our WiFi gear, or interference from us on our mains (we've turned everything off and it's still there), but we could be getting interference from our neighbours kit I guess. It's also not placement-related as the units stay in the same locations.

My initial thought for you was ground loops, but I don't know if it's really the case. You *might* have success with one of these, but I make no promises
