I'm in talks with a company that produces a 5.7" colour touchscreen. The screen has an X10 interface to connect up to an XM10 module, R232 and RS 485, and an ethernet port to connect it to your router so you can access the screen via the internet or PDA.
The software has the usual scene settings, timed events, heating control (has a built in temp sensor) and security functions. Plus a post it function so you can leave messages on the screen for another user to pick up.
At present there are several add on modules, these include:
An RS485 interface with 8 digital inputs and 8 relay outputs rated at 220VAC 10Amp.
A GSM module to connect via the RS232 port for sending and receiving SMS messages.
My question really is would anyone be interested in such an item? I guess the answer to that one will be if the price is right.
