    Please Help

    HI All

I don't know if this is the right place to ask but I'll try my luck anyway.

I'm looking for a door intercom system that comes with a remote handset, so that I may find out who's at the door when I'm in the garden.

The only product I have come across is the Era Locca Connecta.

Are there any other products out there for under £200 with a 200metre plus range.

    Thanks

We have used Avidsen products for clients. They do a wireless intercom system with a built in remote contact closure so you can open a gate. The device comes as a wall mount bell unit and a portable radio unit, which looks bit like a walkie talkie. So when a visitor presses the bell, you can speak to them and then activate the gate opener. Max range is about 70m.
Or if you have a cordless telephone phone why not use a Doorbell fon http://www.doorbellfon.com/products/28it/Dp28it.htm
IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

OK the doorbell fon may be available via ebay, you could order one from http://www.smarthome.com/5070c.html, but being in the US it may not work with UK phones, haven't touched UK phones for a while so someone else might be able to chip in and say yes or no, or send smarthome an email.
I can supply the Avidsen model 102119 if you have problems finding one, http://www.avidsen.es/porteros_audio.html# unfortunately this site is in Spanish. The cost is 150.25euros including postage and packing, but my supplier is out of stock at the moment.
