    Check-List / Memory Jogger

Might seem silly, but having yet again opened our lunch-bag to find I'd forgotten something ... can Cortex do check lists ? In other words, with an MFP in the kitchen, with the thermos-bag packed, before going out for the day, could we push a button & have an audible check-list recited to us, pausing & continuing with further button-pushes, as we choose (find we'd forgotten something) ... ... ditto, packing a bag for going away, on business or holiday ... ditto, checking the car ... ditto, whatever ... ???

Ditto, too, welcome-home lists - eg: as the garage-doors start to close, the MFPs start to tell us what we need to know ... state of the house, who's called, whatever ...

Even better if it could (optionally) do this via our iPhone / iPod !

NB: maybe we could have the iPhone / iPod do some of this on their own, but the advantage of having Idratek do it is that it could be linked / integrated with other house functions ... eg: start the shut-down process once the bag's packed OK !

Yes its possible - essentially you can create a macro with a list of the check list items to be spoken interleaved with wait on button press.

Similarly for a welcome home list (which could be triggered on door closing or house becoming occupied for example). In this case the macro can contain requests for live information to be spoken from whatever objects you want; for example house/room occupancy state, present heating/temperature conditions, phone messages (although this is already intrinsic behaviour available through the message handling object - which you have to remember manages messages from more than one type of source eg. modem answer phone, skype, system messages, e-mails etc.).

If you have caller ID detection then its possible for messages from specific numbers to be routed for notification in different rooms.

There are other related features - for example a 'nag' can be scheduled or triggered upon an event whereby Cortex will keep repeating a spoken message until a button is pressed (or some other input signal). This could simply be to remind you to take the recycle bin out or it could be used for something more important such as a medication reminder. The nature of the cancelling signal can be contrived such that it requires appropriate action by the user before the nag is cancelled - for example microswitch on a medication drawer

      Cool ... !

Then, we'll phase the messages with our progress from the garage, through the basement & up ...
