New to Home automation
Hi,
I am very new to home automation and have just registered on this forum to get some information....
I know someone that has an X10 installation in his house and I want to do something similar.
He has a control unit that can control the TV, Audio, DVD, Lights etc etc.
Is this easy to install and what do I need to buy?
Thanks for your help
Paul

Hi Paul, and welcome.
Is your friends thing a universal remote control perhaps? Have you see the Philips Pronto? That would allow you to control AV stuff as well as X10 or other lighting systems that have an IR interface.

Yeah - I think it is a universal remote that he was able to program with all the stuff that he has in the house.

Have a look at X10 kits from your favourite UK HA retailer - see the LINKS page on here.
