    2 HR80s on 1 HCM200 zone?

    Hi!
Does anyone know if it's possible (and how?) to have two HR80s running off a single zone on the HCM200? Have a conservatory that we just left on TRVs - but has two rads. Seems a pain to be having to adjust two zones to turn up/down etc.

    Cheers

    Yes, that's possible:
    - choose an unused zone and rename "conservatory"
    - reset your two HR80s by removing batteries, then replacing whilst pressing in binding button (not always necessary, but good habit)
    - press binding button on first HR80 (check that version number appears, because button doesn't always work first go)
    - press binding button on second HR80 (check version appears)
    - at HCM200D choose Settings>Installation>Heating>conservatory, at which point an asterisk should appear next to "conservatory"
    - run back to conservatory and check that both HR80s are displaying "SYNC"
    - wait until "SYNC" is replaced by 20C (default) setpoint, and attach HR80s to valve bodies.
    - set up time program for conservatory.

That's your basic setup, which assigns 2 HR80s to the conservatory zone. Each HR80 will receive the same setpoint from the HCM200d, and work independently to achieve the setpoint temp. as measured locally at each HR80.

Alternatively, you can have the two radiators responding to a single room temperature measurement. The single room temperature sensor could be from one of the HR80s, or an HCF82 temp. sensor or an HCW82 temp. sensor and setpoint adjuster (both of which look like typical wall-mounted thermostats). One advantage of assigning a single room temperature sensor, is that the temperature reading may be read back at the HCM200d.

Anyhow, if you want the single room temperature measurement setup, then after doing the basic setup above, you do the following in addition, and for argument's sake I'll use an HR80 as an example:

    - at the HCM200d select Settings>Installation>Room Sensor/Selector>conservatory (you should get a flashing cursor next to "conservatory"
    - go back to conservatory and press the binding button on the HR80 which you want to use as the single room temperature sensor (check that version appears)
    - at HCM200d the display should now show "conservatory>temp. sensor *"
    - put the HR80 back on
    - now at the HCM200d you can select Display>Room Temperatures, "conservatory" should be listed, and initially the temp. display will be "-.-" because it sometimes takes a good few minutes to come through, be patient.

That's it. It's a matter of individual circumstance whether to assign a room temperature sensor or just let each HR80 do its own thing.

Thanks for an increadibly detailed reply! Really grateful. Will give this ago - I set up the system myself from scratch but even after scouring the manual several times couldn't see anywhere about multiple HR80s on one zone...

      Many thanks again
