    Market research on LED lighting

    Hi there.
We are intending to stock LED light bulbs. So we would like to know what type of bulbs you have in your house. That way we can make sure we have higher levels of stock for certain bulbs compared to others.
So if you can reply to this post with something like:
    qty Description
    4 T8 36W fluorescent
    5 GU10 35W
    4 MR16 50W
    2 60W reflector ES27
    3 Garden PAR38 80W

    Thanks in advance.
We are also looking for resellers / distributors for the UK as well.

Hmm. I guess either no one is interested or uses candles.
Oh well it was worth a try.

where we are now is a right mish-mash - CFLs (upright, bulb) & old-fashioned incandescents (bulbs, globes, candles, festoon) - so no guide ...

where we're building already uses CFLs outside (bollards have 3W ES uprights, a few of which have now failed & all will probably be replaced with SD Varilights ... other lamps have 16W uprights or 20W bulbs - all CFL) and some strings of umpteen small soft-white LEDs for the canopies ... inside (nearly all will be uplighters) was going to be HF T5s, but now not so sure ... Varilights, highly efficient incandescents, or ... plus some rope - experimenting with incandescent, but would be expensive to run ...

not sure, though - issues are colour temperature, HA-controllability, dimmability, and noise (audio & electrical), power consumption ...

        open to ideas !!

8 GU10 (3 pairs of increasingly better LED, 1 pair of CFL)
2 MR11 (we don't switch these on because can't replace with LED at the moment)
            1 MR16 (High brightness LED)
            2 Candles
            2 Ultra-compact CFL SES
6 SES mixture of candles and CFL, would replace with LED candles if they were available in the 30W equivalent power
7 BC/ES Dimmable CFL main lights.
10 or so BC/ES CFL where light switches are not dimmable yet.
3 50cm LED striplights for under kitchen cupboards.

I would be paricularly interested in high brightness SES LEDs and especially any fittings that were dimmable.

I'm in talks with the factory at the moment to see if MR11 LED bulbs are possible. I'm hoping that we can get them as a 1W with 75 lumen output and as a 3W 110 to 130 lumen output.

              So watch this space.

One quick question is the transformer you use for the MR11s 12VDC or 12VAC

Info back from the factory is:
The factory will be producing MR11 LED bulbs in 1w and 3w flavours. PM me if you want prices. Only down side is that they require a DC power supply, but these are cheap.

                Right...

                18 x MR16 (12v 50W)
5 x 11w BC Energy Saving GLS Lamp
4 x 11w BC Energy Saving Candle Lamp
                2 x 60w BC Pearl GLS Lamp

Due to replace 6 of the MR16's this week. Replacing the lighting in the bathroom and getting new down lighters. I was planning on replacing them with a downlighter that will take a GU10 so I have more options for energy savings.
