    CBus Wiser

Does anyone know if the CBus Wiser is available in the UK and if so who's supplying it? Had a look on cbus-shop and lets automate but couldn't find it listed.

Thanks.....just dropped cbus shop an email.....I'll write back as soon as I get a response.

Am I right in thinking the wiser unit means that I wouldn't need a PAC to do logic on a CBus network?

Just heard following from http://twitter.com/clarevward -

"YES, the Wiser has logic onboard, therefore means no PAC reqd unless needing RS232 port".

Just had an email back from CBus-shop

          Thank you for your enquiry.

At present Clipsal UK are evaluating CBus Wiser. They will advise us at a
later date if they decide to stock it.

          Kind Regards,

Does anyone know if Clipsal are already supplying it in any other countries and whether it can be imported?

I'm thinking about putting in CBUS in my house, and I'm hoping that I can use the wiser device with all its features and save on the cost of buying a PAC and CNI.

Well I've tried calling Clipsal, thinking they could point me in the direction of someone who is reselling the CBUS wiser controller or at least give some indication of when it would be available in the UK. Sadly it seems Clipsal UK seem to have virtually no information on the CBUS wiser controller, whether anyone is selling it or if it will even be available in the UK, which is a shame as it seems to have so much functionality built into the box.

Tempted to try and buy one from a supplier in Australia, although from what I've read on Cbusforums.com it seems that over there you can't buy it from a normal wholesaler who sells cbus kit but rather a "point one professional".

            Does anyone have any ideas?????

              Altrnative?

I hope this isn't considered inappropriate....

I've just been contacted by somebody who is looking into using Harmony & Cbus Module instead of the Wiser product.

I'd not heard of "wiser" until now - I was searching for more info when I came across this thread.

So, if anyone is interested, please take a look at this (Harmony 2007)

              Cheers,

              Rob

                Wiser Availability

Wiser in the UK will be launched in January 2010, the product will be available through our C-Bus stockists.

The product contains both a PAC and a CNI contained within the unit, we are excitied in the UK about this product as we see this as a key development in the C-Bus offer for the future.

Sorry that I haven't posted anything previously I didn't know that this forum existed, however I will monitor now and will try to answer your questions about C-Bus.

                Regards

CBus UK - thanks for the update on the UK launch of Wiser. It would be nice to get that sort of announcement in a press release so we could feature it on the front page of Automated Home for you (we have requested this many times over the years but for some reason it still never happens).
