    Default Garden watering

I'd like to control a "trickle hose" for my garden. All of the commercially available controls seems to work on a timer. But plants need to be watered when they are dry, not when the timer ticks.

Does anyone please know of a sensor that I can put into/onto the soil and will give a machine-readable moisture reading ?

    Try contacting Ian at http://www.mollyology.com

He does some irrigation suff and may be able to point you in the right direction.

    Thanks

the gardenia watering system would do the job. Or if you want to integrate it, then there is a soil moisture sensor that they sell for thier own controller which you might be able to modify.

they also sell a rain sensor, if thats more appropriate
