    Standby power draw

Has anyone done any research into how much "standby" power z-wave mains devices draw, in other words how much power they draw when they are not supplying power to their connected loads and just drawing power for themselves.

I am interested in this as the power I don't want the power I save from dimming and automation to be eclipsed by the power waste on standby!!

Not too sure about z-wave but the newer X10 modules when in standby or off mode consume just under 1W if that helps.
IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

To get an answer I approached a manufacturer, they said(about their own unit) :-

      * when it is doing absolutely nothing (which is very rare), it will consume about 1-2 watts of power.
      * when its receiver turns on (every few milliseconds), will consume about 2-3 watts of power.
      * when it is relaying Z-Wave signals to other Z-wave devices in the network, it will use about 4 watts of power.
