    Visionic / BT VP1000 X10

I've been running with a VP1000 for some time now and noticed that it has an X10 port. I've never used X10 before so apologies for the newbie questions

Can anyone offer answers to the following....

    1. What X10 module do I need to enable X10 on the panel? and where would be the best place to source one?
    2. What will I likely be able to do once I enable X10?
    3. What software would I need if any?

    Thanks

You need an XM10 module to connect to the panel.
I would recommend getting the PC to Visonic software kit as it makes programming the automation part easy.
    What you can do is,
you can turn on or off lights or appliances, use the sensors to turn on or off lights. When the alarm is triggered get the alarm to turn on lights.
Set up timed events. If you have the remote keypad you can use this to operate the lights etc. Phone in and control your lights. If you have the web module then you can do it via the internet. I think if you have the gsm module you can send text messages to operate your lights.
IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.
