X10 - what do I need next?

I don't currently have any X10 in my house, however I have just purchased an Infinite Prime house alarm system that comes with a X10 Home Automation device so that I can turn lights on when the alarm goes off etc...

To get this working I assume I need an X10 plug that I can put a lamp into?

Also, if I did expand on this what would I need to be able to control this over the internet? Could something be installed on my PC and then made available over the internet? Could it run on port 80 or similar and me open this up through my firewall?

Also I have an iphone and notice there a several apps that allow control from it. Which is the best and what would I need?
