    Finding a C-Bus expert - Herts

    Hi

I have had a look on the installer pages but have not found anyone suitable who can answer my questions - any suggestions?

I am in a house in Herts (between Potters Bar and Hertford) which has a working C-Bus system. However I would like to expand it to allow for more functionality and (if possible) use the installed Cat 5 cabling for a home network.

Please reply if anyone has ideas who can help.

    Thanks.

      I use this guy

Ben Addison Ltd. (Electrical Contractors) specialises in installation of integrated systems using Clipsal C-Bus technology.

Comes done from up North and knows cbus very well. Did all of the install on my house and we are talking about 40+ lighting zones.

Also forgot to mention, if you haven't found it already, try going to CBus Forums which is the most extensive Clipsal C-Bus Home Automation specific community forum on the web run by many ex Clipsal guys and and frequented (and in some cases moderated) by Clipsal staff. Though it is based in Australia, it has a large international base of posts and contributions. A post on that forum would also likely find you many local contacts in UK etc.

                Good Luck,

                    Hi 21stCenturyElec,

When the pickings of new posts is slim when you come back, seeing you're here you re-read some of the previous posts, and then rather than waste a visit may choose to elaborate on an earlier post

..................................or poke fun at another contributor ............... Great to see you did at least that.

I'm happy to see some (any) heartbeat returning to the C-Bus forum as obviously it helps Home Owners to have a forum with readers and posters rather than a dead wall of ancient posts. Also, with Google having everything indexed, a three year old question is as relevant to someone wanting the same information today as the original poster's question, so the forum ends up a database of ideas and information.

So why not add a new thread that everyone can visit, enjoy and get involved in? I've got a truck load of ideas eg Most annoying C-Bus problem, Favourite C-Bus product, neatest rack up job, Best pubs in Adelaide, What CBus product should Clipsal make next? Most annoying Aussie forum pratt!!. Feel free to use any of them....

Blacky7 glad you took in the context it was meant to be. I agree the postings are a little thin on the ground here and not just the C-Bus area. Its a little surprising as Home Automation is growing and there are few other forms around dedicated to the subject but this one seems to be lacking in a steady flow of discussion. If I have some spare time I will do my bit
