These is server solutions so that you can controll your home with all type of devices (IPod, IPad, mobile phone, laptop), from any place on the planet.

A friend recommended this software to me recently, with much praise, so I bought it myself and I couldn't be more satisfied.
Everything works like a charm, all of the controlled devices are in perfect sync and I control the software using both my PC and HTC Desire S (Android 2.3.3) and because it is web based I can access it anywhere through a web browser, which is really cool
I'm from London, so all the potential UK users shouldn't have any doubts about software performance on X10 systems, because from my experience all I can say is - excellent job
