    Default Automation controllers

    Hi

I am looking for a relatively low cost automation controller either software or hardwere based. im not looking for anything to complex just the basics -
    • Sensing from triggers/remotes
    • Timer Function
    • Send commands based on above

All the commands and triggers will need to cmunicate over IP. I intend this to be used purly as a brain that will comunicate with Globla Cache.

I intend thi to be used in conjunction with Commnd Fusion (iOS/Android).

    What would you suggest?

I have many years experience with control and basic automation with X10, multi-room AV distribution, Lighting. I now wish to move to the next level of control.

Despite visiting AutomatedHome for many years I have never used the forums untill now.

    Thanks in advance.

If you want to roll your own system then the EZ Web Lynx might be of interest.
Something else that may be of interest could be the Raspberry Pi board when the come out. At about 22 pounds for a Linux computer that is designed to be programmed its good value as all you need extra is a keyboard, mouse and a monitor. Rasberry Pi Wiki. One of the project founders is David Braben who co-wrote Elite.
