noticed this, looks more affordable than others right now :

but can't understand the current rating - 5(50)A - what does it mean, is it the new way ? ?

Not sure of the current rating either.

There are some on 100a din rail units with SO contact on ebay for £8.75

Here is what google translate threw up.
1-phase power meter for DIN rail: 35mm Our SWISSNOX is one of the few single phase 5/50A AC meter with digital display. It is designed for DIN rail and is suitable for quick snap-mounting on DIN rails. The digital watt meter is suitable for installation in virtually all Sicherungsverteilanlagen and electrical boxes. He serves on the review of kWh consumed in homes, apartment buildings, power sections or individual levels. (Suggested Retail Price: 69 €) The watt meter is supplied with terminal covers (2 pieces). . He is one of the highest accuracy class 1 Using two digital decimals is to determine the current power consumption. Operating range of this counter is 1% of the rated current that is in 5 (50): I (call) = 5 A, 1% of I (nominal) = 0.05 A, maximum load 45 A. An approved operating range of 0.05 A so .. . 45 A. Connection: 230V 5 / 50, 50/60 Hz Accuracy: 1 Mounting: DIN rail (DIN 50022) 1TE: 18mm (DIN 43880) interface: optical coupler - DIN 43864 S0 interface for remote readout / integration into energy management systems, pulse length : 90ms Display: 5 + 2 = 99999.99 kWh with status LED Power consumption: <8VA Operating Range: 184-265 VAC, 0.02 ~ 50A starting current cos phi = 1: 20mA typical Frequency Response: 50Hz or 60Hz + / - 10% Temperature range: -20 ° C to +65 ° C Relative Humidity: 75% - short term up to 95% Applications: Detection of increased consumption (power hungry) Energy management systems, building monitoring wear on equipment / machinery metering of heating systems or any Sub-distribution installation in distribution without meter board or counter cabinet with S0 interface for remote viewing and integration into energy management systems company, industry and switchboards, office complexes, camping and garden equipment Digital DIN rail kWh meters of Swissnox terminal covers (2 pcs) Operating.
So it looks like its either 5A or 50A. Initially I thought it was operating current and max current (or surge).
IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

yep, range & accuracy, various apparently contradictory statements, and no mention of power, despite that being what it's to measure !

        presumably 230V ± the usual, 50-60Hz, 0-50A, 1% accuracy at 5A ...

        but, who knows ? !

          >DRM75A ...

interesting find, 'though P&P ups it a bit ... and there's a trade-off because of the space it takes-up, when DIN-rail mounted in a box ...
