    Strange X10 behavior

Six months ago, I got a new washing machine and dishwasher. I put an X10 Appliance module on the dishwasher, to take advantage of cheap rate electricity at night. It's been working fine, until now - I have changed nothing. Now, the X10 Appliance module refuses to accept new commands. So I swapped the appliance module for a known good one. However the fault remained at the dishwasher socket, not with the Appliance module - both of them work in other sockets! Then I discovered, if I unplug the washing machine (plugged into the adjacent socket), the appliance module works again! What has changed to make the washing machine effect the dishwashers Appliance module?

Welcome to the wonderful world of X10

I have seen exactly this sort of thing in my own house and it's very frustrating. You could try a filter on the washing machine socket.
