    Air quality sensors

Has anyone looked at this? I have seen a number of US projects about this generally, but nothing over here. Airbot - http://www.engadget.com/2012/10/25/a...ollection-vid/ and Citizen Sensor - http://www.citizensensor.cc/. However I haven't found any air quality sensors suitable for patching into a HA setup as most firms seem to target an industrial market.

I'd be interested in a cheap'n'cheerful particle sensor like the airbot that just gave some indication for asthma sufferers of the air particle count and that could tie into Idratek.

I would have thought someone somewhere might be doing something for education/schools/Raspberry Pi that might be applicable.

I don't have experience with them but there appear to be a number that come up from a web search which could be interfaced maybe without too much trouble such as the MQ135 (which seems to cover several pollutants - don't ask me how you'd differentiate), and the Sharp GP2Y1010AU0F (particle sensor, may need a bit of bespoked firmware to read). But quickly glancing through data sheets I feel one of the main problems will be how to interpret the output signals and deal with calibration. For example the MQ135 output varies with temperature and humidity let alone pollutant concentration, though it looks like if you switch on its heater the effect may be diminished. If someone would like to do the more detailed research ...
