Multiple HVAC Unoccupied Temp Settings

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas on how to have multiple unoccupied temp settings within the HVAC object. I need to be able to set one for when the room is unoccupied but the house is not and then one for when the house is unoccupied. The latter setting needs to be lower as the wife says it's too cold in a room when she visits it after several hours of being away from that room. So i thought i can have an occupied setting of say 22c then an unoccupied setting of 20c but the unoccupied setting of 15c when the whole house is unoccupied. Plus the additional fallback setting temperature.

We are getting quite good at sending email notifications prior to heading home so the lower setting shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Is their a reason why you do not use the fallback setting for when whole house is unoccupied?
Or put another way when do you use the fallback setting?

Hi Viv,

I use the fallback setting for when the house is unoccupied for more than 24hrs and it's set at a significantly lower temperature, i.e. 10c.

Not sure how well this would work but you could try...

Create two macros.

First Macro will be a set of 'Set Value' commands to the HVAC's.
Use the 'Heating temporary change Set-point value' connection.
Note the value you set will be the target temperature e.g. 15C
The HVAC will add an offset to the current profile to achieve your
requested target temp.

Second Macro will be a set of trigger object commands to the HVAC's.
Use 'Heating Normal setting'.
This will remove the offset.

In the House object use the 'On unoccupied' connection to trigger the
first Macro. Use the 'On Occupied' connection to trigger the second Macro.

Hi Viv,

That seems to work quite well. The only snag i hit was when i used the email command presence override on my way home and the heating didn't go up to the profile i actually wanted ... lol
Another macro to reset the heating set points and heating activation seems to have done the trick, but it would be nice if there was a simpler way. Could it possibly be added as a feature in a later release?
