I am thinking of adding a function to my 'Wake Up' macro whereby a piece of hardware/software accesses say a localised motorway travel website and checks to see if there are any morning travel incidents. It parses this text to a webbased text-to-speech site so it 'announces' it through the bedroom audio system.
I am keeping the automation side deliberately vague as I want to concentrate on how best to attain this function be it dedicated hardware, or both hardware and software running on say a Pi.
I don't want to go down the road of RSS feeds, I just want to have the technology load up a webpage and 'scrape' the relevant information from it (it could scan for a certain string in order to find a start point), and pass this to a web-based text to speech facility.
Anyone with any thoughts?
