    Default Promising IP cameras

Found this when hunting around for cameras http://www.aliexpress.com/item/HIKVI...328071616.html

It looks promising and there is a very favourable review at http://www.networkcameracritic.com/?p=1968

I'll need 4 but I've ordered one for testing so will post a review when it arrives after I get it set up in Cortex. For the money it looks like an exceptional camera to rival some much more expensive Axis/Mobotix cameras

    Highlights
    ------------------
    Power over Ethernet
    30fps @ 1080P
    IP66
    Day & Night
Digital inputs for use with PIR

Bear in mind to use MJPEG output.

The camera arrived today and the image quality is excellent. Whilst it provides both h264 and mjpeg streams I can't get the latter to work in Cortex unfortunately as it looks like Cortex may not support the rtsp protocol and I can't yet find a link to a mjpeg stream over http.

OK so I've made a bit more progress. The camera has a snapshot URL over http which I can get to work but obviously the frame rate is atrocious. I accidentally left the URL set with an rtsp:// prefix and this URL still works which suggests to me that perhaps cortex is forcing http regardless of the protocol entered. I've emailed Karam as hopefully this can be resolved from the Cortex side. accessing the video stream using rtsp and videolan confirms the stream is mjpeg.
