Good afternoon all. First post, so please be gentle!
Based in the north east of England (near Newcastle). We live in a 3 bedroom, victorian terrace.
Upstairs
1) Master bedroom (4m x 4m x 3m high) - 1 radiator
2) Dressing Room - My wife's room (4m x 3.5m x 3m) - 1 radiator
3) My office (2.5m x 3m x 3m) - 1 radiator
4) Bathroom (4m x 3m x 2.8m) - 1 towel rail radiator
Downstairs
5) Living room (4m x 4m x 3m) - 1 radiator
6) Dining room (4m x 3.5m x 3m) - 1 radiator
7) Kitchen (3m x 3m x 2.8m) - 1 small radiator
8) Hallway (Xm x Ym x Zm - Large) - 2 radiators
Room 3) radiator is currently always off due to office equipment warming the room sufficiently.
I'd like 8) to be warm (not full temp, but not freezing) during all of the time we have any of the other rooms heated. Probably similar to 4)
My wife and I frequently work away (3 weeks per month). The dog goes on holiday to my in laws.
Currently we have the heating on (automatically):
0600 and 0730. In this time, we mainly use rooms 1, 2 and 4 only.
1700 and 2130. In this time, we primarily use rooms 5, 6, 7 and 1 & 4 later on only.
The weekend schedule is slightly differently.
So, we're looking for something we can
a) control remotely - So that when we're away, we can ensure that he heating is on frost protection only or turn on when we're due to arrive home. We have android devices but a web gui would be fine. Or even teamviewer/remote desktop into my "always on" home server.
b) control individual rooms on different schedules.
I know that this will involve some TRV changes etc.
We don't have a great deal of money, but willing to invest in longer term, so if we have to spend up front...so be it. Still, would like to be efficient with our expenditure too.
Where do we start? What kit is capable of this?
Thanks in advance
Stew
