    Evohome gateway power consumption...

    What's this gadget's power consumption..?
I'm Confident it's pretty low but since it's going to be on 24/7 it is a cost to be considered...

Well if you use the 'Power' formula - P (watts) = V (voltage) x I (amps) at its worst consumption this would equate to 5 watts per hour.

Well it says 4V and 0.6A on the base of the charging stand so 4 X 0.6 = 2.4 watts...

              12€ where I come from...

And we're expecting a hefty price hike in 2015...

But I'm not gonna let this impede any future purchase...

And just think how long you get running a radiator in an unused room for €12. Its a lot less than a year

And the €12 spent on electricity effectively gets lost as heat, so thats a good thing ...

At any time, I think about half my radiators are off because we aren't using that room (e.g. lounge off in the morning, kitchen off after dinner) so it must save a huge amount of gas.
