    Evohome S Plan Plus applications

evohome S Plan Plus – how do I control more than one heating zone valve?

Ideally you should simplify the installation however in certain cases it is possible to control an S Plan plus system

CAUTION ADVANCED APPLICATION - to be read in conjunction with installation manual and youlearn module. Intended for experienced evohome specialists.

Either wire both/all heating zone valves into the Heating relay (n.b. they will all open on a heat demand from any zone)

    Or

Bind multiple relays in at Heating valve in the Guided Config.
All relays need to be in listening mode when the binding signal is sent from the evohome controller.
(n.b. they will all open on a heat demand from any zone)

Hope this makes sense, any questions please ask away

I have a question on this, on my S Plan Plus system in the central hall, there is a downstairs radiator and an upstairs radiator. These do not have TRV's on them. There is an upstairs thermostat and a downstairs thermostat. When running like the above post suggests, both these would then come on ? How would you deploy to avoid this ?

all radiators would need to be fitted with TRV and HR92

If setup like this, would the zone then need to be configured as Multi-room rather than single room, to signify that the upstairs and downstairs were controlled 'separately' ?

Sorry I don't follow what you're asking here

Have a look at the youlearn about evohome (link in sig)
This explains about zoning really well

The S Plan Plus configuration top brake refers to is when you have HR92's fitted to all radiators throughout the house, but have 2 or more heating motorised zone valves in the way. I will always personally recommend when HR92's are fitted in this instance that the system is simplified to an 'S Plan Minus' system (i.e. heating motorised zone valve(s) electrically disconnected and left in the manually open lever position or removed if you so wish) as it will eliminate potential issues in the future, such as the zone valve(s) failing.
