    List of automated heating systems?

    Hey all,

Im a newbie here and Im currently struggling to find what Im after.

Im looking for a Heating Automation system which is consumer friendly, supports zones and yet programmable via an API.. oh and lets not forget reasonably priced!

The kit needs to consumer friendly so my wife can use it.. however I want to be able to override the programming and do clever things like geofencing, movement sensors activating TRVs

Has someone come up with a table showing product/features anywhere??

    Hi,

    Have you seen this list?

Not just for heating systems, but should give you some pointers as to what to look at?

    Cheers,
    Tim.

Thanks Tim, I had seen this list but it was general, whereas I specifically was after internet enabled thermostats/boiler controls etc.. For example the honeywell systems arent listed, neither inspirehomeautomation..

your list of requirements tends to be mutually exclusive

the open and programmable systems tend not to be particularly user friendly

the user friendly systems tend to be more closed

call me biased but Honeywell evohome treads a good line between functionality and ease of use, you can add geofencing and other smart device integration through IF and DO apps from IFTTT
