    Interference with Wireless 802.11g Router?

Has anyone else had a problem with X10 cams interfering with a wireless router? When I turn on my cam I get intermittant disconnects and reconnects from my D-Link wireless router. Any help is greatly apprecited.

Re: Interference with Wireless 802.11g Router?

wireless routers do get interference from domestic appliances such as microwaves. Certainly the x10 cams and the router both work on the 2.4 GHz frequency, as do wireless alarms etc.
TV transmitters that send your Sky to another TV wirelessely tend to have a channel selector. Do your X10 cams have these too. If changed do they make any difference?
Guess you can't move the cameras - so unless you can either move the router or change certain nodes from wireless to wired - I don't see how things can be improved.
You could power the x10 cams from a PIR so that they only transmit when there is movement. One of the x10 cams has a PIR built in which may do the trick.
Why not switch to a wireless webcam such as a linksys?
