    X-10 modules - general questions

    Hi there,

I've used X10 home automation before (back in 90s) using converted US modules. I'm thinking of having my home automated by using X10 again .. using the UK modules instead .. few questions, I've saw few modules on sale at ebay which end with U (eg LM15U etc), are they the UK version? For the socket rocket (LM15E as per X10 website), can I use widely available power saving bulb? I've somewhere the Firecracker serial adaptor, but I guess it works on US frequency and I guess there is no way that I can adapt it for UK's CM12?

    TIA for any information.

TBH UK modules have gone down a lot since you last tried them. While they still aren't at US price levels, they are cheap enough that it's not worth while buying US ones and converting. As you say, UK and US use different frequencies for the RF too. Have a look in the links page for the UK eTailers...
