    HCW80 connected to evohome?

Is it possible to connect an HCW80 to evohome and use it just like a temperature sensor?

It's not a supported device with evohome

I think I tried it once and it did work as a sensor but the dial was inoperative

Do you remember how you did? I actually just need it as a sensor :-) . I tried to put the HCW80 in binding mode keeping the button pressed for 15 s, but the evohome controller does not recognize it

it doesn't need a 15sec press, just a short press on the bind button will be enough.

But equally it might not be compatible.
