    Default Light bulbs

    Hi,

I have installed Homebridge and have it working nicely, but I have a question about light bulbs.

I'm going to get the Hue system at some point, but for the time being can I get a light bulb that will just work with Homebridge and without a hub? At the moment I have a Wemo Switch working with Homebridge.

Also, it seems hard to find Friend of Hue light bulbs in the UK. Has anyone found anywhere to buy third party Hue light bulbs in the UK?

    Best wishes

    Michael

If the WeMo switches work directly then the bulbs should too I'd imagine.

Proper Hue bulbs start at 15 now.

I saw Hue were now a good price, but wanted to do some playing before I got the hub In fact they are much cheaper than Wemo bulbs.

I did find these - http://shop.easybulb.com/easybulb-rg...id-controlled/, but as ever I don't know if these will work with Homebridge without getting their Wifi box - http://shop.easybulb.com/easybulb-wifi-box-controller/

This smart home stuff can be very addictive, and can start costing you some money if you aren't careful

I took the plunge and bought one. It looks like Homebridge - https://www.npmjs.com/package/homebridge-milight should support it.

    I will let you know.

I decided to back out in the end and keep the money for my Hue purchase.
