Are you talking about what Honeywell calls optimisation? If so, it is called Optimum Start and Optimum Stop and it is in the Evohome controller device settings. There is no single system on or off depending on temperature. Each zone does it's own optimisation via the zone HR92.

Yes my mistake on screen there are options for Optimum Start and Stop. From a user viewpoint I can see nothing new.

I'd be interested if Honeywell could tell us:
"Also interested to know what might be the difference between appl 1.0.2 and 1.0.3 ?"

as my connected EvoHome is still running 1.0.2.

I can't see without resetting it, reluctant to do that!

Is there anyway to find out if your controller is going to be upgraded or not ? I thought the whole point of having the directly connected wifi unit was that it could now receive over the air firmware updates ??

When this happens, it will be the first time I will have seen any benefit since the upgrade. Besides that, right now I've lost outdoor sensor and per zone optimisation.
