I have spent a number of weeks investigating and testing my theories and I think I can now put together an almost completely wireless based Home Automation solution.

My solution includes a flush mounted touch screen panel which doubles up as the main control panel AND the HA software server. Wirless lightging modules to control lights, RS232 over wireless solutions to control heating, security, shutters & blinds and a bit of X10 for appliances.

This means...

No wiring costs.
No Node Zero.
You get a solution with a very attractive touch-panel for a low entry price.
Excellent retro-fit possibilities.
Very flexible fitting scenarios.

To my mind, this could be a very attractive solution because of the reduced cost and the retro-fit possibilities.

Has anyone got any thoughts on whether this is worth developing further?
