There's no reason for a (well designed) RF handshake to take 5 minutes. There's no reason for (well designed) RF comms to need devices to be 2m apart. I have all manner of other sensor/actuator kit and haven't seen these things elsewhere.
There seems to be a lot of black magic with Evohome, and for me that's one of the most frustrating things about the system.
Is it just me?
(Don't get me wrong though, I love Evohome, and recommend it all the time - I just wish things were clearer - I'm like a small kid asking "Why?" all the time)
