CORTEXDirect email option with gmail servers

    Hello,
I am using CortexDirect to send emails to me through gmail servers. Today I noticed Cortex is unable to connect to server. I found out that turning off SSL allowed me to connect to smtp server, but this connection offers limited functionality (unable to send emails to non-gmail recipients).
I found an article on google:
Last September, we announced plans to no longer support two very old security systems called SSLv3 and RC4. As mentioned in Adam Langley’s ...

Do you think it can be source of problem?
Anyone else is experiencing such problems?

no idea if related, but we've of late found our e-mails delayed by several hours - they used to be sent promptly, and we're not aware of having changed anything ...

It had to be temporary problem indeed. For now sending email using CortexDirect is working correctly.

curious to know - is yours still working again ... we still have the problem ...

it seems Cortex retries the send, over & over, every five minutes, and it looks like it does get through, eventually ... but how long it takes looks to be random - half an hour, fours hours, almost twenty-four hours, it varies a lot ...

the Google article is hard to understand, but mentions 16th June as a cut-off date - we first noticed our problem on 24th May ...

initially we thought it must be a Cortex problem, but using Test Connection points to it being external to Cortex ...

we found un-ticking the SSL box eliminated the Error message we got when we clicked Test Connection, meaning it seemed then to work ... but we still found e-mails got stuck in the queue, apparently just the same ...

our Cortex is sending e-mails through gmail to icloud ...

Today I noticed that the problem is back.
I installed Thunderbird to configure mail via MAPI, but another problem appeared - when I try to send an email, Cortex reports error in log file:
            15:32:07 SendEmailObject exception 2
            15:32:07 SendQueue.RemoveObject(i); exception 2
And when I try to add or edit mail items in send options tab I receive this:

An update for Cortex has been release to version 27.2.3

Google recently blocked some security protocols used by email clients.
It was also used by Cortex for emails.
This latest Cortex release resolves a number of issues and includes a change in the security protocol used and should now be suitable for Google emails.
