I looked around at several similar wireless systems but the integration with the app and the bonus of having cameras in the PIRs, and non-subscription text alerts made me opt for Honeywell. I think the bottom line is that you won’t get a cctv-like camera in a battery operated PIR due to the power consumption.
In addition to the Honeywell installation I have Phylink HD external cameras running on power-over-ethernet which will email me still images and dump a video to wherever I wish, including cloud accounts, when motion is detected (together with the video from 30secs before motion detection). These have infra-red leds built in which glow slightly at the edge of one’s visual range at night which I hope would give burglars pause for thought.
I regard the CCTV as a warning and a deterrent with the Honeywell (ignoring the deterrent effect of the alarm box) telling me when an incursion has actually taken place, as well as alerting neighbours and putting the wind up miscreants.
Accordingly I think the two-system approach is the way to go.
