Rather than hijack someone else's thread, I thought that I would update you on my discussion with a Viessmann installer about a new boiler. He was a very pleasant chap, and one that I would probably trust to do the work. He has also installed Evohome in his own home. So far so good.
I had provided him with what I thought was a pretty detailed set of requirements which included an Opentherm connection to the boiler; fitting of an ABV to replace a gated bypass; fitting of a SpiroTech MB2 and RV2 plus associated works. I also asked for HW priority.
After looking around my system, the response was ' all you need is a new boiler with magna clean' and I would leave all the existing Evohome controls and the 2 motorised valves in place to avoid all un-necessary work.
If I wanted a KISS approach, then I wouldn't have purchased Evohome. ( I didn't tell him that)
I have another Viessmann installer coming in the New Year.
