I’ve just had the following from Honeywell.

Could I get some feedback from people who have reported issues as well as myself as to whether the problem has been resolved?

I’m still having issues, just wanted to confirm it wasn’t just me.

One still has to ask one's self "how vital is it I can turn my heating up from my phone?"

Totally failed this morning to control heating & hot water from the Android app. Four occurrences of "Failed to get account information".

Ultimately got access via my browser.

I had an email for Honeywell yesterday to say that there is a server issue that has yet to be resolved. Interestingly, they also confirmed that the current software for Evotouch is Application 07.01 and Wifi 06.10 despite what was suggested on another thread.

Those are the firmware versions on my Evotouch when I checked yesterday.

There was a suggestion on another thread last week from Rameses that the software had been updated. Clearly, the update first mentioned a couple of months ago is still pending. I just wish they wouldn't do it what CH is On. Having had the controller lock up with nothing more than a remote change from the App, I am concerned about push updates when I am not at home to monitor the system.

Turn on failsafe mode just in case, I have... If the controller locks up the BDR91 will run at 20% duty cycle when the controller is AWOL for about an hour... (Yes I did test it by pulling the batteries out and waiting )

Presumably it works with OpenTherm as well.

It was the actual controller that was frozen - and needed a battery out re-boot - but I take your point about failsafe.

But this is exactly what failsafe is designed to protect against. The failsafe is configured in the controller but it is implemented in the BDR91. If the controller looses comms with the BDR91 for long enough for any reason including crashing the relay will start cycling on by itself autonomously.

There needs to be some sort of protection like this because all it would take is a member of the family to take the controller off the dock and leave it lying on a Sofa and 6 hours later when the batteries run out your heating stops working. (Without failsafe enabled)

Do you recall if the HR92’s open to full if they lose communication with the Evohome and failsafe mode is activated, otherwise if they have no failsafe mode then the boiler will just cycle without heat to the rooms?
