evohome early access to BETA Firmware

    #### evohome WIFI only ####

Originally we were looking to deploy this before Christmas. It is now looking Jan.

So we have agreed with the product team to collate the MAC address of our community friends who want to get access to live beta of the newer firmware. This offer is only being placed with members & readers of this forum.

This is beta firmware, if you choose to have it pushed to you then, you understand that this is beta firmware and that any support issues on new features will be best endeavours.

There are some on this forum who are beta users already and we have a high confidence level in the performance of the FW and are confident it will not change, however deployment in a proper manner takes time.

If you wish to have the newer beta FW and understand the above then do the following

    1) Send your MAC address to the following email address FAI@honeywell.com
    2) Put in the subject heading evohome FW beta
    3) Put in the body email your MAC address AND username you login to TCC/App with
    4) DO NOT PUT ANY OTHER INFO
    5) Closing date for this is Friday 15th (sorry for short window)

When we get full release - unless there are any changes - then your version will not change

I should have probably added - what is the correct means of communication if any non-critical bugs/issues are found in the beta firmware, or there is some feedback about the changes ?

EG not problems where suddenly the whole system isn't working or there are major problems, (presumably contacting Honeywell support directly for that is logical) but where for example one of the new features doesn't seem to behave as expected or there is constructive feedback regarding it. Through this forum thread ? PM to yourself ? Normal Honeywell support channels ? (But will they be aware of the beta firmware and be able to provide any support for it ?)

For anyone worried about the beta nature of this firmware, Ive been running it and haven't noticed any problems.

                    Just to check...

Is the 'MAC address" thermostat MAC in WI-FI settings?

I normally log in to TCC and find the MAC address there.

Go to 'view settings' for the comfort system.

But yes, it IS the same as the MAC address in WiFi settings.

Thanks Paul - yes, they are the same. Forgot about it being there also.

Or just take the front off the thermostat.
