    T87rf + r8810a1080a = 87rf2008?

    Hi

I need a T87RF and an R8810A - came across the Y87RF2008 pack on the Honeywell site

Evohome Shop don't list this, but it seems a very cheap way of getting both items at just €117 from the Netherlands?

To buy both items individually would be north of £170

Am I missing something obvious here?

    Cheers!

The cheapest .nl sites that I could find don't offer UK shipping (one was NL and BE, the other just NL). Did you find a €117 supplier that ships to the UK?

Nope... haven't even got that far, so as you say, it's probably a non-starter. I didn't realise it was a .NL product only, but I've since found a table that shows which products are available in which markets and it definitely is NL only. A bit weird!

        Never mind...

Your thread just inspired me to check ebay. I picked up a round thermostat for £50 and an OT bridge for £11, both new!

I also picked up this, which if it works should be cool!

Dammit - why didn't I think of trying eBay.... No such bargains there right now.

Don't need it for a month or so though - saved search here we come!

Free UK shipping, €119.95 for the pack. That'll be my plan B if eBay doesn't turn up trumps.

Or they do the EvoHome WiFi + OpenTherm receiver €239 - which is also a bargain.

There’s a bridge on eBay for £63.45 with postage and a few Y87RFs starting at £50

Indeed, but may as well order new stuff for €119.95 from the Netherlands.

I'm actually thinking of using the EvoHome WiFi as the main zone controller - I'm on the old non-WiFi one at the moment... so could kill multiple birds with one stone here.

Swap my old EvoHome for the EvoHome WiFI on the wall mount
Swap my existing boiler control BDR for the Opentherm Bridge
I can then use the freed up BDR to drive my UFH zone

Flog my old EvoHome + WiFi bridge on eBay - should get a few quid for it.

                    Any flaws with this plan?

I hope there is someone like me on eBay who was looking for a V2 evohome controller when you list yours. Why? you ask. It was the only way to reverse engineering the scheduling protocol so that Domoticz could also schedule using the HGI80. The advantage of the split unit is that the Wifi Gateway talks using radio messages to the controller but communicates with the Honeywell servers using the Internet. In the Wifi only unit there is no radio messages for schedule changes because none is necessary.

Please keep us posted. I guess this is a port of the project below but looks nice.

Quite possibly, but this Russian thing uses an Orange Pi Zero - a Chinese Raspberry competitor - as the host board. It's nice kit - more powerful than a Raspberry Pi Zero - but the SoC runs very hot, so I'll be getting my thermal camera out to see what this is like when using the Russian board.

Actually they are different. The previous Raspberry Pi version had replaced the PIC with an AVR. The Orange Pi version still uses the PIC and it's original firmware too.
