Ok, I've only just heard of z-wave whilst investigating my x-10 solution. I got really excited, only to find the complete lack of information available. I've read the posts below none of which seem to say much useful.
Does anyone have ANY clue or idea or guesstimate when we are likely to see z-wave distributed in the UK?
I have seen the UK devices available from www.automatedoutlet.com - its promising but until we have wall module theres no much point. I notice they have UK USB and Serial interfaces too - this is good - but...
I heard rumors that z-wave was an open standard - does this mean that an SDK is/will be available, or at least command listings? I am developing my own software as none of the home automation software seems to fit my reqirements.
My software idea is to develop a complete home portal accessable from touchscreens around the house, which will control all aspect of the automated home and media distribution. I will be developing in .Net 2.0 (which is a tremendous improvement on 1.0 and 1.1) and in PHP.
Any help would be appriciated.
