    Hackable Rad Valves

    Hi,

I'm looking to source some motorized radiator valves. The difficult bit is that I do not want any proprietary company system. Well, not unless I can hack it to do as I please. Just valves I can talk to with my own code.

Ideally Wifi, but I realise as they are battery operated it's more than likely going to be RF. This is fine as long as I can find documentation on the protocol and then emulate it from a microcontroller or raspberry PI with an RF transmitter.

So what are my best options?

    Thanks,
    Paul

So far my research has only found a rather nasty looking Open TRV project which is very unappealing or... mains operated valves which aren't much better.

Surely someone must have created an open protocol radiator valve that can be used without a proprietary system.

What about electrically operated TVRs these use 24V dc or ac or 220V ac. Not wireless I know but the clossest to what you are after.
IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.
