    Evohome faults

I had smart meters for gas and electricity installed yesterday.

I noticed shortly after the installation a fault showed (mains low) followed two minutes later by (restore).

    What does this mean?

I’d imagine it’s because your power was cut for the installation of the meters and the controller detected the BDR91’s lost power. I.e would have been unable to actuate the heating valves

The thing was after power was restored every thing worked as normal.

However this morning heating failed to come on.
I discovered the time to base station clock had stopped, tried to reset but it would not hold the time.It was showing fully charged.
I jiggled batteries on base station and battery indicator dropped almost nothing.
Returned to base station it is now charging and system working.
I assume it was a lost battery connection on base station.

I think I have resolved the problem,it was caused by a poor connection to the base station.
Most likely because the engineer who installed the smart meters moved the controller in order to site the smart meter display.
Which inadvertently caused the mains cable to become loose, the mains low message was the result.
