HR92 can not completely CLOSE the radiator valve

Hi there,

A friend of mine has an issue with 3 HR92's on 3 radiators where even if there is no demand and the HR92 is in sync with the evotouch and has a "0" position, the radiator continues to heat and should not.
It means the small pin is not completely pushed on the radiator TVR and lets hot water to flow ...

I have here a picture of this TVR but we are nit sure what type it is, so what adaptation to use :

Can someone please clarify / help what should be done ?
What type of TVR is it, do you know ?

please forgive the simple question, but have you fitted the adator to your mechanical TRV?

I assume you have.

Remove HR92 , manually turn adaptor wheel closewise to close the valve. You should be able to close valve and radiator flow of water.

If this is possible, try fitting hr92(with honeywell procedure) Then set the HR92 to High Torque mode option 6 to 1, this is also know as valve stroke to 1 full stroke. If it still does not close fully then I suspect you need a new valve.

If you cannot close valve manually your mechanical valve is broke. You might be able to free it off with gentle taps to pin with hammer and wd40. But best to changed.

I have had one TRV valve jammed open and room went crazy hot randomly. So I changed out for honeywell valve.

What you show there is the M28x1.5 or M30x1.5, I have asked the guy to put it in the TRV and turn there black wheel clockwise, but he says it is not having any "resistance" so according what he says, the pin of the adaptor is not able to push on the pin of the TRV ...

Yeah Standard/most common(supplied with Hr92) is the M30. So if pins are not touching then, you must have a different type, if hes managed to screw it on it must be m30. Unless hes cross threaded them and it is slanted or not fully down. How mechanically minded is he?

ok, he definitely has an issue because turning the black wheel clockwise is not getting any resistance, so I think it is unable to puch the pin into the TRV.
He needs to change the TRV's I think.

OK - sounds good - two links for honeywell trvs bodies, sometimes just as cheap to buy body and plastic head.

Looks like you need to change out the part in radiatior threaded adaptor so you have 15mm olives and nuts both sides of valve. Should come in with TRV valve bo

Hi Sombody,
Yeah I hope they know that and followed the instruction, if you read through from top this is a problem with the mechanical TRV Valve is passing due to adaptor( the one with black wheel ) not pushing TRV Valve fully. So to diagnose they wound the wheel fully in to close without success, radiator TRV valve did not close.

Thanks for the input... yes to install TRV Hr92 you do wind it out fully then fit head. But if mechanical not working head will never work.
