    Replacing HR92 sensor with a Y87RF

One of my zones has 2 rads with HR92s but we've recently added some humongously thick curtains near the valves so I've put a Y87RF on the wall. I reset the Y87 binding, removed the "remote sensor" setting for the zone on the controller and bound the Y87 as a remote sensor. It seems to work but when the HR92 setting is adjusted (by turning the control on the top of it) the controller calls for heat. I'd expected the HR92 control to be redundant so I'm a bit confused. Is this "working as intended" or should I delete the zone and start again, binding the sensor before the valves?

You can still adjust via the HR92 but it's using the Y87RF.

Think of an HR92 as three things:

    1 - A temperature sensor
    2 - A controller - essentially a connected knob, but also with a display
3 - An actuator (motor controller).

When you use a remote sensor you only replace (1).

Thanks Paul. I understand the HR92 functions but doubted that the system was smart enough to accept multiple ways of adjusting the set point. I've just done some experiments and I'm surprised (but pleased) that a change to the set point on any one of the 4 devices (Evohome controller, Y87 or the HR92s) is sent to the other 3.
