Old Central Heating
I have a problem with my central heating, which is an old style boiler. It suddenly stopped working, even though we still have hot water, and the flame is on. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix it manually, since there are public holidays etc. because of Christmas and the New Year. The increasing cold weather will also become a problem later on.
Thanks

Re: Old Central Heating
Is it a combi boiler. If it is then it sounds very much like the problem I recently had with mine. There is some sort of solenoid valve that stopps working and will mean that you either get Hot water and no heating or heating and no hot water. Fixing it manually may be possible but I think it probably needs replacing. Mine was completely knackered. Cost about 153 euros to replace it and the pressure relief valve which was dripping slightly.
