    Can I use my USB IRDA to control my TV/VCR? Which software should I use?

    I'd also like to start the VCR with a powerpoint click - any ideas?

    CAn't find an app to do this- anyone found one?

    Probably not. Most devices use a different IR system, I think its based on an NEC system. Saying that some Digiboxes use IRDA. You might be better off buying a UIRT device. This normally connects to the serial port of your PC. This can then control your TV, VCR etc.

      But surely they are no different to the IRDA on my Pocket PC, which allows me to control the TV etc. with programs like OmniRemote etc. ?
