    Thanks Gumby.

We'd be interested in turning this into a story for the front page of the site once you've finished it.

Just wanted to explain that the slight hiatus in posting was due to moving hosts last weekend from the one that we don't mention here and not because everything's gone wrong and I can't see my keyboard. Please let me know if you have any problems accessing the blog.

    Hi Gumby

The idratek stuff doesnt look too bad , and probably technically as good as cbus if not better ....They just need to polish the look on their switches ...I think thats were cbus has the edge .....Have you mentioned module prices as yet ???........

    Hi Frank,

You can get the full price list on request from Idratek, but some example list prices (all ex VAT) are:

    PCIF (with audio) 52
    Cortex (standard version) 69
    MFP-002 179
    DRB-001 (dual button/relay/LED) 45
    LPS-001 (light level + PIR) 49
    ITR-001 (IR TX/RX) 47
    QBI-001 (4 buttons/4 LEDs only) 33

The MFP is the cheapest method to "do" a whole room, but the looks were/are controversial (I like mine in my study, but not so much in the living room). The single face plate modules (in white with white buttons) aren't bad at all in terms of looks. If everything is working properly, you don't actually look/touch them that much anyway !

But to be fair, C-Bus does have a wider range of looks, and "button feel" is a bit better.

    Cheers,

    Dave

Bathroom automated. That's bathroom, not bathroom usage.
