    help choosing an alarm system

    Hello evryone

I am plannin to buy a home alarm sytem and I came across multizone alarm system with some specification that I dont understand:

    -4 alarm zone?
    - 1 Panic zone
    - 4 low battery zone?
    -built in visitor chime function?

Could some one explain me what those terms really mean in the system.

    Thank you

    Zones really mean sensors.
Panic zone means an independant zone for a panic button. Normally this will be some kind of switch that needs to be reset at the alarm panel. Think of it as a sensor armed 24hrs a day. So if you hear a noise you can press the panic button and set the alarm off.
4 low battery zone, this means that the system is a wireless one as any sensor that has a low battery will report its condition to the main control unit.
The chime function is used to alert you to a sensor being triggered while the alarm is not armed. Basically the panel will go ding dong if a sensor has been triggered. Normally used for door contacts, so if a door is opened the panel will go ding song. Much like when you enter a shop you quite often here this ding dong.
IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.
