We all know the issues we have had with the rechargeable batteries in the controller over the years i.e not charging. To force a charge as indicated by the lightning indicator, a battery needed to be removed or prised apart from the other one.
Maybe I've missed something but over the last few weeks, I've noticed that if I turn off the power to the controller and reconnect it then the controller actually starts charging all by itself.
Today was a proper test as I had to have the power off for 90 minutes to enable SSEN to fit a new mains cutout fuse box.
YES, the Evohome controller did not cut out at all.
What a pleasant surprise!
